(no subject)

Who: Everyone
When: Day 99, evening
Where: Floor 4
What: Beach party (bring your own party). Also mingle

[So, how many of you are using the threat of curious lizagons to stay inside? How many of you re bored yet?

[Maybe that's why Leedin has carted in a bunch of sand, and it's covering half of the clear floor on the north side of the floor. There's even plenty of colors -- white, grays and black, reds, oranges and yellows, pink and even a few patches of olive green and purple. ]

[OOC: Leedin will probably let this persist until tomorrow.]

[...descends from floating to stand in the sand, feeling it shift under the thin soles of her shoes.]

And your project. What is it.

I was thinking about a tapestry. This is nearly the hundredth day of the return of mortals to this world.

[shifting her weight in the sand a bit, just to feel it move.]

Is that an occasion. You wish to celebrate.

I am fond of anniversaries, and many people here count by powers of ten.

What would you put. On your tapestry.

I'm deciding that now. There is a lot to consider.

And the sand. Will help you decide.

It lets me see my ideas displayed, and it is easier to manipulate sand than thread.

For this purpose at least. Many works of thread and yarn are decidedly linear, so changes must be made in a certain order. Patterns in sand are not.

Yes.

I can see. How that would be true.

It requires a certain sense of patience to do, for that reason. And planning.

It is the same with the non-linearity of sand. Is it not.

Yes. It is part of my nature to be patient, it seems.
