The only way I could relate is if my ninjutsu was suddenly completely ineffective.

Anyway... it seems you're doing well despite the short-comings.

I don't really know much about ninjutsu... I couldn't say if it's quite the same. The knowledge is still all here, and if it's something someone brought from their home I can likely still transmute it, but things that look familiar here just don't feel quite right.

Ah, I'm doing my best, at least.

Ninjutsu and other techniques I know largely depend on my own energy. So in that way, I lucked out in that I can still use it as I'm used to--just... not as frequently.

It's limited?

Alchemy's based on an understanding of the makeup of the world, using energy drawn from the shifting of the planet's crust. I can still access that energy, but everything's just wrong enough to not work properly.

Either limited or it's more like more of my energy is needed to make any of my techniques work.

Haah... guess I shouldn't be surprised by that.

Ah, well... as frustrating as it is, we adapt.

About how you've been dealing with the differences...

Well... mostly the age thing.

Though my situation's a bit different since they did die at those ages in my own memory... memories being the other issue.

... it's probably a bit much to ask about talking about, but. [really, when the mentor of your youth is younger than you...]

You mean how everyone's younger than they should have been, by my memories?

...I've just been trying to ignore it, to be honest. Even if it's a little... ah. More than a little strange that my teacher is younger than I am, now. With all of them too young, if I try to think about it too much, it gets too weird. And... it's sad, to think that they were robbed of the lives I know they should have lived.

For the memories... I meant more that the boy I know who was in Sabra La Tau... he doesn't remember much of home... he doesn't even remember how he originally died there.

*nods*

She is. She's been staying with us, here in this apartment.

Ah... he's not the only one missing part of his memories. And I'm not sure there's a way to regain them, here. I'm not really sure what to say other than to just be understanding when he's missing some piece of his past.

Ah, I appreciate it. It can be difficult to manage things when most people would rather keep me where it's "safe."

Has Ling been giving you trouble with that? He doesn't seem to understand the "respect your elders" part of the whole teacher-student equation on my end.

I haven't really been seeing much of him, actually. Figured he's keeping busy with the rest of the young people.

... that also might be my fault. I have him training in the mornings and the evenings, and assign him tasks to do... he's the type that likes to be kept busy. So if you need a helper...

Just bare in mind that you'd have to feed him lunch.
