[ Wandering over with a smile! He's got some bandages from yesterday, but nothing severe. ]

It went disastrously, actually. But Ky and I are safe, so it went better than I could have.

[ Catches the staff and tests its weight a moment. He's stiff and his right arm is sore, but a workout will help more than hurt. ]

The group at large was attacked and split up. The two of us ran into another small group at the wreckage of a train. And of course, in the nature of the place, all hell broke loose once we were all in an enclosed space over a massive drop.

[counters as expected, but slow and deliberate for now. just moving through forms and stretching that arm.]

Something, an insect I think, caused a member of the party to turn on the rest. In the process of solving that problem there were injuries to nearly all of us. And... [a tight-lipped frown] Ky quite nearly plummeted to his death.

I'd pushed him towards the exit for his safety, and then the fight barreled through and knocked him out. Fortunately, I caught him.

[moving just a little more harshly, clearly still shaken and frustrated by the memory]

It has strengthened my resolve to protect him.

[a puff of breath and a soft smile]

The bright side of the day is that he has agreed to put up with me indefinitely.

I didn't check in on him, but I would be very surprised if he wasn't working.

I think, perhaps, he finally believes that I like him. He says it makes no sense, but he did not deny the fact.

So he does. I am the most fortunate of knights these days.

[ a small grin, and he suddenly goes for a light jab. Don't get too distracted! ]

Oh? Perhaps your fortune is greater still?

[ Oh good! It would have been boring if you'd slipped that far. And now it's time to really practice, though it's been years since Saber properly handled a staff or anything like it, so he's at an even more distinct disadvantage than last time. The pulled muscles in his arm don't help, either, but he'll cheerfully give it his best shot. ]

But since he knows he's going to lose in the end anyway, he waits til they're locked close together, and suddenly moves just enough to place a kiss on Lancer's cheek. It's chaste enough to still be brotherly, but since he knows his double is well used to how gingerly he handles contact, he hopes it works as a stunner and he can get Lancer's feet out from under him.]

[aaand dropping the end of that staff to Lancer's throat for his win, then setting it on end so he can lean on it and smirk]

You should work on that concentration.

[lands hard on his behind, visibly startled

and laughs]
