What: A not-so-long awaited return

[So for those who were curious about that counter that said "6 days" a couple days ago in the portal room next to the level 3 baths, the numbers on it have been jumping around the last couple of days, up and down, as if giving a live update of the haggling that's been going on behind the scenes.

Today the numbers run all the way down to zero suddenly and then is replaced with the following:

"Duration: approx 2-3 days"

With that the portal surface starts to ripple in the way that indicates that it's become permeable, and those who wander by the area may start to get the distinct smell of salty ocean air coming through it. Those on this side who try to push through it will find that although their hand disappears through the shadow layer of the portal, something that feels sort of like saran wrap blocks their hand on the other side, stretching under their weight but not letting them through.

Not so for the other side though, and if people stick around long enough they might get a surprise.]

[It seems like some stragglers from last night's arrivals might be showing up at the shrines this morning.

Meanwhile, down on the 3rd level, at the portal room (that empty room next to the baths), a god is putting up a counter similar to the one that indicates when the portal to the rainforest ruins opens (morning and evening on even numbered days). Shadows slide up the wall and form around the existing counter, expanding it so that there is room for the new information:

What: Wrap up and Mingle

[SO by the end of the day most of the servers are free--either party-popped back into their own clothes or got free of them after serving a while. The cafe stations melt away into shadows as the sun sets, leaving the common area cleared up and the kitchen tidy. Servers that ended up serving more willingly and enjoyed themselves may end up getting to keep a butler or maid uniform (minus the pins), or if they're less inclined to want clothes, they get to keep a matte black tea set and some tea. A few others worth trolling may also keep their maid outfits...

Having concluded things, Selyir can be found back at the 4th Level shrine area, in the shadow of Eizon's shrine.]

When: Day 141, Late-morning and onward

[Over in the common area on Level 3, at least half of the space, including the public kitchen, seems to have been taken over by Maid or Host Cafe stations. The areas have been sectioned off tastefully with dark drapery or folding screens, and each station has it's own service area where menu items can be prepared or stored. Ingredients for various savory appetizer dishes are provided by Hok, and Luna and Albinia are catering pastries and ice creams. Selyir, of course, is providing teas, both hot and cold.

Slim looking black tables, plain with only a bit of flair on their feet, are set up throughout the area for customers to sit at and wait. There is even a line of them by the windows so people can look out over the hills while they enjoy their orders.]

Since the main purpose of the event is to give people a chance to thread with characters and players they don't normally interact with, I recommend logging on to #thusia in IRC so that you can get to know or chat with the player you're paired with! [So just before noon, a simple transformation takes place throughout the HQ.

Residents who have damaged or vandalized the HQ, who have taken part in real fights and caused injuries to their fellow residents, who have brought in live specimens of nature and let them run or grow wild, will find themselves suddenly engulfed in a shadow! When the shadow passes they will find themselves in a maid or butler outfit, generally of good taste, but almost certainly not what they would prefer to be wearing. Each outfit comes with a silvery pin or brooch, with the wearer's transgression engraved on it in a short sentence...

However much they struggle for the first hour or so, the outfit refuses to be removed, shed or torn articles simply dissolving into shadow and reforming prim and proper where they belong. They may find a note in one of the frilly apron pockets or tucked into their vest that reads:]

"It has come to my attention that residents may require a gentle reminder that vandalizing the HQ or harming others should be discouraged. You have been found guilty of one or multiple transgressions and will be asked to perform some community service in an effort to ensure that the reminder stays with you. Please report to the Level 3 kitchens at [YOUR SHIFT] to serve your sentence.

[ Pass by the shrine area this morning and you'll catch sight of a certain electricdick god waiting patiently for his... shrine's shadow? Which just then twists and rises to form a pedestal, atop which sits a dark tablet. ]

[ The shadows around HQ tonight seem thicker than usual, particularly around the stairway up to the fifth level. This is probably because of the steadily increasing amount of red lizagons gathering up on the fifth floor, and if you care to venture up there you'll notice them tearing up vines and branches to build nests, using those large feathers that fell before as... decor? ]

[ For the less suicidal, the night is still young and yours. ]

[ The moment before the last rays of sunshine disappear behind the trees, when the shadows are at their longest, a misty black pedestal appears in the precise center of the common area. On the pedestal sits a simple black screen, on which scrolling words appear when you approach it. ]

Please excuse my interruption. I currently request assistance in the creation and installation of windows around the perimeter of the fourth level on this building in order to completely secure the immediate area. For this I will require multiple individuals acting within one of my domains in order to provide sufficient resources for the task. The task will not be combative, but will require you to work alongside another to complete several specified duties. Said duties will not require any individual to venture out into nature, as the personal security of residents remains top priority.

As further incentive, those whom complete the task successfully will be rewarded with a request of my own services or utilities for their keep. This includes and is in no way limited to: portals, windows, weaponry of your own function and design, armor of the same, personal and private security systems, and anything else within the capabilities laid out within the directory.

[ Well before the fog begins to roll into headquarters, every apartment door will hear a series of two knocks on their door simultaneously. Opening the door reveals no one there, not opening the door receives no additional knocks. Either way, a certain godly voice sounds from the nearest shadow to your door. ]

Please pardon my intrusion this evening and I apologize for the urgency of my request. I require assistance tonight in removing the security threat presented by the large hole in the wall by the common area. If you would be willing to assist, I ask that you meet me there and highly suggest you come armed should you have the resources. This task will also require physical labor, so I ask that those not equipped or prepared for combat come as well.
